Port Hardy Foursquare Church

In the summer of 2001, a outreach team from Street Church (Downtown Eastside Foursquare Church) went to Port Hardy to minister to the needs of the people. During that outreach the Lord placed in on the hearts of Pastors Ken & Debra Palfenier to plant a church in that area. Through people and circumstances this vision was confirmed over and over again.
It then became a matter of urgency to us to find out what the Lord wanted to do in the Port Hardy area and the Lord made several things very clear to us;
1. There was a flock without a shepherd. Although there was no shortage of traveling ministers, the people really desired a Pastor who would be dedicated to them, who would desire to stay in the area, and would embrace them for who they were and in the culture that God had given them.
2. There was a desire for biblically sound teaching. There was a desire to hear the good news of the gospel, for solid Christian principles, and to find the fullness of God's purpose in there lives.
3. There were so many lost souls. Since the summer of 2001, we have gone on several outreaches to Port Hardy and the Lord showed us the oppression that was there, we witnessed many children walking the streets at night, children giving birth to children, suicide, alcoholism and above all so many that truly did not know the Lord.
In June 2002 a church planting team left Street Church, Vancouver, to go to Port Hardy to fulfill the call to "Go" and minister in that area. The team will is lead by Pastor Ken & Debra Palfenier and Assistant Pastor Barry Shaw. All ministry staff is staffed by volunteers.
