Submission deadline
EXTENDED!

Thanks to new partner, VEI Press, we have extended our submissions deadline to
1 FEBRUARY 2006.

Here we go again!

Drawing The Line Again, Another Book of Comics Benefiting Cancer Research (affectionately known as DTL2) is now in full swing!

Thanks to your interest and due to your calls for action, we have secured enough artists to proceed with a second comic book anthology to raise money for cancer researchIf you want to submit a piece for the book, send it to our editor RON BOYD or to our coordinator SULEY FATTAH.  Submission deadline is 1 February 2006.

As with the original, DTL2 continues its effort to raise money by donating 100% of its sales proceeds directly towards cancer research. All work, administrative and creative, is done solely by volunteer efforts and donation.  We are delighted to announce our newest sponsor and publisher, VEI Press, who joined our project in September 2005. Can you make a difference?  Find out how!

There is an added bonus to our project: by supporting this project through your generous donations and purchases, you are also propelling up-and-coming artists to new heights.  This project, once again, publishes hot comic book legends such as Moebius, Jean-Claude Gotting and Stan Sakai alongside new rising stars. And we are thrilled to see many new artists join us in this win-win project.

Project Goals

The goals of the project are:

  • to raise awareness of health and well-being through graphic novel storytelling;
  • to sell enough books to raise (an additional) $25,000 for cancer research; and
  • to partner new comic book artists with seasoned professionals to further promote graphic novels and art.

The Project

The current working model is similar in form and content with the first book, DTL:

  • Black-and-white softbound book
  • Colour cover
  • 104 pages
  • Featuring original artwork by Canadian and international artists with unique stories on health and well-being
  • Finished size will be 6” x 9” (15.25 cm x 23.5 cm)
  • Weights approximately 0.46 lbs (.209 kg)

The stories themselves are left to the imaginations of the artists and based on their vision of the theme: Heath & Well-being.

And like the original DTL, all artists continue to graciously DONATE all their time and work so we may continue to put 100% of the proceeds towards CONQUERING CANCER! Some have even offered us originals so we may hold another silent auction to raise further funds towards our goal.

Launch Date

Our launch date has been pushed back to April 2006 where we intend to release DTL2 at the Toronto ComiCon (April 28-30, 2006).

We will be taking pre-orders for DTL2 via web and email shortly.  Please check back here and our NewsBlog for updates.

This site will soon be archived and we will present a new site to promote DTL and of course, DTL2.

If you need more information NOW, contact our coordinator, Suley Fattah
