It is an ordinary hotel or restaurant and diners have gathered to enjoy a meal. Without warning a strange crumpled manic figure appears and addresses them.
This is Inspector Herring - until recently head of East Fife & Forfarshire CID and Lost Property Department. He has been coaxed out of retirement to deal with unusual and disturbing cases of murder.
With his dim, but trusty, assistant Sgt. Kipper he turns to the diners for help. Their powers of deduction, their sharp gimlet eyes and their finely tuned bat-like ears will be tested to the limit as Herring and Kipper lay the case before them.
Using hats and props borrowed from the East Fife and Forfarshire Constabulary Lost Property Department they will re-enact selected scenes leading up to the murder under investigation.
Each table of diners becomes a team or teams of collective detectives and they are in competition to solve this crime!
Style:
Humorous and interactive.
Not everybody who comes to a Murder Mystery is a Master Detective so the "Inspector Herring Investigates ..." series of mysteries concentrates on fun, entertainment and audience enjoyment.
There is of course a serious murder plot, but it is delivered in an outrageous, dynamic tongue in cheek style.
The scenes are enacted between the courses of a meal so that the audience can fully appreciate the mystery and the meal.
There is plenty of time allowed for enjoying the meal, the bar and socialising.
Ideal for audience numbers up to 80.
