Hampton Court Palace
Henry VIII took this impressive residence from Cardinal Wolsey and turned it into one of his favorite palaces. You'll find exquisite gardens, valuable artwork & tapestries, a frustrating maze, the royal tennis courts (c.1600's & still in use), and Europe's oldest working grapevine. If you have extra time, you can boat here on theThames!
Chloe with the ghost of Katherine Howard!?!
This swan in the garden was quite fast at pecking people where they didn't want to be pecked....
Another view of some gardens.

If there really are ghosts in Britain, many of them must reside here. Anne Boleyn & Sir Thomas More lost their heads here, and this is allegedly where Richard III got rid of the 13-year old Prince of Wales and his younger brother, the 11-year old Duke of York. Elizabeth I was imprisoned here by her sister, Bloody Mary.
We're across from "traitor's gate", where the condemned were boated in, passing the sights and smells of the staked heads of their predecessors.

Buckingham Palace
This was just a fancy house until Queen Victoria decided to turn it into her royal palace. More impressive than the palace are the surrounding parks, filled with people just hanging out, having lunch, or enjoying a nice English afternoon....
Our friend, Mike, hanging out on one of the huge statues in front of Buckingham.
This was the best pic we could get of the Changing of the Guard. People must camp out there to get a good spot to watch. So, this is the left side of the front view of Buckingham Palace.

That's us with our legs hanging down to the left of the pic. We didn't know that we were so close to a rainbow! Where's a leprechaun when you need one?
