In the picture you can see Rosalie in the middle of us tall German guys. Rosalie is from the International Office for Student Services. She is always there for us and brought us to the following program.

Cultural Ambassador Program 2000/2001

In this program people from all over the world come together in three, two hour sessions with American elementary and high school students. This program was created to support the understanding of other cultures. My roommate Andi from Bavaria and I went to Cajon High school to share with 15 to 18 years old kids tongue twisters like Fischers Fritz. We also shared with them German music (Fantastische Vier), and an overview about laws and events in Germany.

The Cultural Ambassador Program was an opportunity for us to represent our country and talk about socio-political issues and put them in proper context. Furthermore we had contact with people from all over the world ( Brazil, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Lebanon, Mexico, ...) and learned about the pattern of live in other countries. The workshops (public speech, storytelling,...) taken in advance of the presentations, are a great opportunity to learn about other cultures and attitudes. And last but not least we practice our language and presentation skills.

Student Representatives

Since my first semester at the University of Applied Sciences in Fulda, Germany, I have been an active member of the student representatives. I was responsible for public relations and the organizational support of events. I wrote articles and news releases and was the contact person for the local newspaper. In addition I joined the Standing Committee of Public Relations for the department and worked together with professors and the media.

Sports

My favorite sports are jumping, ballroom dancing and riding my racing bike. Since I have been ten years old, I worked with horses and competed on horse shows.
