INDIAN VACCINATION SCHEDULE ( Latest I.A.P & U.I.P.Recommendations ) Age Vaccine BIRTH B.C.G. + OPV 1½ - 2 months O.P.V. (POLIO) + D.P.T. (TIRPLE) 2½ - 4 “ “ “ “ “ 3½ - 6 “ “ “ “ “ 8 - 12 months Measles & Polio (5th dose). 15 - 18 “ M.M.R. (Measles - Mumps - Rubella) 18 - 24 “ Polio + D.P.T. ( 1st booster ). 2 yr. Typhoid ( Typhim vi ) Booster is given every 3 yrs. 4 - 6 yr. Polio + D.P.T. ( 2nd booster ). 10 yr T.T. (Booster). 5 - 10 yearly. Hepatitis B Booster HEPATITIS B Primary dose : 3 Injection ( Given at Birth , 1 mo & 6 mo ) Booster at 10 year. H.I.B 3 DOSES ( Age < 6 months ) H. Influenza B 2 DOSES ( Age 6 - 12 months ) ( Pneumonia / Brain fever ) 1 DOSE ( Age > 1 year ) Booster after 6 - 12 months OPTIONAL VACCINES 1. CHICKEN POX VACCINE : One dose is reccomended for children . It is given only above 1 yaer of age . It is optional below 12 year but mandatory after 12 year. It is given to individuals who have not been exposed to chicken pox infection. 2. HEPATITIS A : Two doses are recommended given at the interval of 6 months to 1 year. This is also a optional vaccine . Consult your doctor whether it will be useful for your child. 3. VAXIGRIP ( INFLUENZA VIRUS ) : This vaccine is given to specific group i.e , ASTHMATIC PATIENTS because influenza viral infection in them leads to triggering of asthmatic attack. It is given as a SINGEL SHOT TO BE REPEATED EVERY YEAR. |
