Crockett Genealogy

The following information on Crockett's 10th Generation, in part, was provided to me about 10 yrs ago by Ronald Olson. The info on David Earl Crockett was provided to me by Kris Mattson. The info on George Crockett was provided by Nancy Woolery. The 11th Generation of Crocketts is my Crockett family, and the info given to me by my Dad, Hollis.

Crocket Family


Ninth Generation in more depth

9.David F. Crocket born March 4,1840 in Pike County, Ohio married Marinda Pendergrass who was born November 15, 1842 in Athens County, Ohio. They were married June 5, 1859 in Ross County, Ohio. Marinda's parents were James Pendergrass and Mary Buxton. Her brothers were Frank H. and Edward. David's siblings were Harriet, Sarah, Julia, Marthe Ellen, John F., and Joseph Jr. David and Marinda had the following children...

i.John R. born May 3, 1860 in Ross County, Ohio married Mary Buxton in 1883. John R. died September 27, 1920.
ii.*Franklin Halcolm born October 7, 1861 in Ross County, Ohio married Francis Jemina Peterson who was born on December 22, 1860. She was the daughter of Thomas and Emeline Peterson. (I am very interested in Francis Jemina, if anyone has any info on her life, please email me! She is my Great Grandmother, and am interested in what she was like. Thanks).
iii.Oma Leona born August 25, 1866 married F.H. Fairbanks. She died September 11, 1887.
iv.Edgar was born in 1873 he was related to this family, we believe he was Marinda's brother but not sure. In the 1880 census, he is listed as a Crocket. Probably as adopted by David and Marinda.


10.Franklin H. Crocket and Francis Jemina Peterson Crocket had the following children...

i.Gertrude born March 14, 1884 in Neosho County, Kansas, married Glen S. Gross on December 12, 1903. Gertrude died May 23, 1967. I was told they had 2 girls.
ii.Vern born March 27, 1886 married Carrie.
iii.David Earl (Ferguson) born February 11, 1891 in Neosho County, Kansas. He died April 11, 1975 in Spearfish, SD. He married Holly Mae Gidley Palmer on November 18, 1916 in Kansas. They had one child; Anita "Jane" Crockett. More on David below.
iv.Oma Leona born in 1885. First married Fred Williams and then Mr. Smith. She died in 1927.
v.*Harriet (Hattie) Mae born February 11, 1889 in Thayer, Neosho County, Kansas. First she married John Richmond then she married Albert Brooks Rule. See 11th generation below.
vi.George S. (Guy) born March 3, 1892/4 in Galesburg, Kansas. He married first to Emma Mildred Parsons who was born February 9, 1892 in Hermitage, Hickory County, MO, who died December 1, 1932 in Sulphur, OK. Mildred was the daughter of Thomas Mayfield Parsons and of Plecann (Palissy Ann) Branham This is shown different ways. And then he married a lady named Margaret Lee Woolery "Maggie" who was born September 10, 1903 in Benton County, MO and died December 17, 1981 in Midwest City, OK. Her father was John Milton Woolery and her mother was Mahala Annis Parsons. Guy and Maggie were married on March 3, 1933 in Vernon County, Missouri. They had no children together. Guy died July 15, 1959 in Oklahoma City, Okla.George S. Crockett was Margaret's second husband. Margaret was married first to a Doyle Fuqua; 2nd to George S. Crockett; 3rd to John McCord or McCorder; 4th to Arthur D. Davenport. ( All Information on Guy & Maggie provided courtesy of Nancy Woolery LaGore. vii.Ralph Brown was born March 26, 1895 in Kansas. He married Julia Anne McIntosh. He died December 19, 1974 Oklahoma.
viii.Everett was born May 30, 1896. The only info I have on Everett is that he adopted 2 sons.
ix.Garnie Olen was born June 5, 1899 in Labette County, Kansas. He married first to Grace Marie Hille and second I have no name. I have a marriage date of November 19, 1921 in Sanborn, IA but not sure for which marriage. He died May 3, 1962 in Muskogee County, Oklahoma. He was buried May 5, 1962 in Salina, Kansas in Veteran's Cemetary.
x.Hollis C. born August 5,1900 in Kansas and died October 2, 1914 of appendicitis.
xi.Christine born December 25, 1903 died in 1991. She married Paul Freed.
xii.Vivian born February 28, 1905. She first married Mr. Crawford and then married Mr. Mefford.


Eleventh Generation

Harriet Mae Crockett first married John Richmond and they had 2 daughters. Thelma "Tom" who married Mr. Moore and Nellie "Nell" who married Mr. Cuddy. Later, Harriet married Albert Brooks Rule and had my Father. Harriet born February 11, 1889 in Thayer, Kansas married Albert on August 30, 1928 in Parsons, Kansas. She died January 8, 1969. Albert was born January 7, 1893 in Sherman City, Kansas and died April 19, 1976. They are both buried in Galesburg, Kansas at Mt. Hope Cemetary with all our other Crockett ancestors who are buried there.

David Earl (Ferguson) first married Faye and had David Jack Crockett who was born in 1914 in Kansas and died in 1989 in Maryland. Jack had 1 daughter. David Earl married a 2nd time. He married Hally Mae Gidley Palmer on November 18, 1924 in Oklahoma. Hally Mae was born October 15, 1894 in Roper, Kansas and died July 24, 1970 in Grand Junction, Colorado. David and Hally Mae had one child: Anita "Jane" Crockett who was born November 18, 1924 in Oklahoma and died earlier this year of 2004. She married and had 6 children. For the time, I am not adding any of their names here because most of them are still alive and married and have kids of their own. Only with their permission will I add their names here.
