How to sew the rows together...

1...You will first sew your Hexagon and triangle sections together into rows. If your seams "butt" together, that is one goes one way and the opposite one goes the other way... matching will be a breeeze.

2...Sew the rows together, again butting the seams for easy matching of the seams.

The ends of the rows will be uneven.

3...When you are done with the whole quilt top, use a ruler and rotary cutter to trim the uneven edges, as indicated by the red line on the left of the graphic.

Trim 1/4 inch away from where the two triangles come together. Then when you sew the borders on, the stitching should cross over the seam where the triangles come together because you left a seam allowance with you trimmed.  You will have a nice sharp point on the edge of the hexagon.

Last, add borders as desired. You could make one plain border or maybe a pieced border. Several plain borders of various widths would also be nice.

I hope you enjoyed this lesson and this quilt.
