An apology from the University

The University of Liverpool has formally apologised, and the letter is reproduced here in full.

"Dear Mr Bradley

I have been informed by Mrs Susan Rutherford, Director of Personnel that there has been an expression of concern about the perceived absence of an apology from the University at this most sensitive time following the publication of the Redfern Report.

I wanted personally to restate that the University wishes to offer its most sincere apologies for the distress caused to so many people by the events of the past and to express its deepest sorrow to all of those affected.

Please accept my personal reassurances that my thoughts and my deepest sympathies remain with the parents.

Yours sincerely,

Philip Love (Vice Chancellor)"
