Organ
Retention Affects Whole Families, Not Just Parents
A
letter from 10 year old Naomi Robinson, daughter of Jan, was read
out by the Chief Medical Officer, Professor Liam Donaldson, and became
the keynote message of the conference.
She had written it because Jan had said that someone should tell the
Chief Medical Officer the affect that all of this was having on families.
Here is
what she said:
"Dear
Professor Donaldson,
I am writing to tell you how I have been affected by what has happened
at Alder Hey Hospital for the last 20 years.
My name is Naomi Robinson. I am 10 years old. My brother Michael
died before I was born, so I never saw him.
I think what has happened at Alder Hey is awful. New things keep
coming out all the time and it gets worse and worse.
It is horrible to see my mum getting upset and crying when she hear's
more bad news from the hospital.
I have 4 more brothers and sisters who also get upset and they feel
as bad as I do about Alder Hey Hospital. No matter how much I try
to carry on with my everyday things this is always in my mind and
it always will be.
Yours sincerely,
Miss Naomi Robinson."
