Litigation Settlement

You may remember that some time ago as part of the litigation settlement, £10,000 was given as a donation by the University of Liverpool and Alder Hey hospital towards a memorial stone being erected in memory of the children involved in organ retention.

Families were asked at the time for their suggestions for a permanent memorial. Discussions have taken place with the fund holder, if such a memorial is to be put in place more funding may be needed, plans would need to be put into place for the design, building and location of such a permanent memorial.

Alternatively, suggestions or ideas would be welcomed for these funds to be donated to a charitable organisation. We will keep you informed of the outcome.

PITY II (Parents who have Interred Their Young Twice) is the parents' support group set up in the wake of the organ retention scandal
at Alder Hey Hospital (Liverpool, UK). It aims to provide self help support and advice to affected families.
