Charitable Donations

You may recall that as part of the litigation settlement, Liverpool University gave £100,000 to be donated to children's charities in memory of all our children involved in organ retention.

Ian Cohen, of Goodman's Solicitors, has informed PITY II that the money will be paid to the charities within the next few days. The money will be equally divided between five charities and they will each receive £20, OOO plus the interest which has been accrued which is approximately £2,000.

The charities who will receive a donation are:-

THE RAINBOW FAMILY TRUST, FRANCIS HOUSE

a children's hospice in Stockport, Manchester

ZOES PLACE
a hospice for babies in Liverpool

DERIAN HOUSE
a children's hospice in Chorley, Lancashire

CLAIRE HOUSE
a children's hospice in Bebington, Wirral

These above hospices cover all of the North West,
North Wales, The Isle Of Man, Cumbria, and parts of Yorkshire.

WHEN YOU WISH UPON A STAR
a small registered charity whose aim is to grant the wishes of children
who have life threatening or terminal illnesses

PITY II welcome the donations being made to the children charities - for the money to be used to benefit other children is a fitting tribute to all of our children.

PITY II (Parents who have Interred Their Young Twice) is the parents' support group set up in the wake of the organ retention scandal
at Alder Hey Hospital (Liverpool, UK). It aims to provide self help support and advice to affected families.
