Family Seminar Wendy Natale recently ran a seminar in London for family support groups. PITY II were invited to send three members. Alice and Paula attended on behalf of PITY II and Jan as part of the Retained Organs Commission (ROC). Michael Redfern
QC, Chair of the Royal Liverpool Children's hospital Inquiry welcomed
everyone to the meeting and gave a short talk about his report as
well as his hopes that the new Human Tissue Bill would take into consideration
the Recommendations made by the Professor James Underwood, President of the Royal College of Pathologists gave a very good presentation Entitled 'Learning from families'. He felt that he and his colleagues had learnt a lot from their involvement with families and that listening to them had been very important. Because Community Health Councils have now been abolished Wendy has been unable to continue her secondment to the Retained Organs Commission and so has moved onto a new job. We wish her every success in her new job with a very big 'Thank You' for all the help and support given to us, we would have found it very difficult to get started without her. So Good Luck
Wendy and take care.
