We
are very sorry to have to give you the news that John O'Hare, Chair
of PITY II resigned in February. John joined the executive of PITY
II in March 2000 and took over the position of Chair in July 2001.
John worked very hard to represent every child involved in organ
retention from pre-term babies to young adults.
John
earned the respect of everyone he came into contact with. His great
wish is for a change in the Law, so that what happened to our children
can never happen again.
Pauline,
his wife, joined the executive in August 2002, but was working with
us long before that time, has also resigned. Pauline worked alongside
John and was just as passionate and hardworking. Their resignations
were for personal reasons.
Both
John and Pauline worked very hard in contributing to the work of
PITY II.
So John and Pauline what can I say but, Thank You.
It
has been a privilege to work with you and call you friends. We are
sorry that we have lost you. Please be with us when we celebrate
the change in the Law.
Take
care, love and best wishes to you both,
Alice
and the PITY II Executive.
Following the
resignation of John O'Hare as Chair, Alice Procter, formerly Vice-Chair,
will now be acting as Chair. Alice
wants to reassure everybody that she will continue to represent PITY
II and it's members in the manner of those who have gone before her,
with the interests of all those involved in organ retention as her
main priority.
