Memorial
Campaign - give £1 towards a
plant
Dear
parents
As
you know, last September myself and two other parents, Liz Polding
and Sharon Ratcliffe - in conjunction with St Helens Council - designed
and had constructed 'The Memorial to our Children'.
What
you may not know, is the fact that our memorial is the only one
in the UK as far as we know. I think that it shows the determination
of the families in the North West of England to have people remember
the tragedy at Alder Hey, and that it serves as a reminder for it
to never happen again. 'NEVER AGAIN'.
The
memorial needs to have a permanent garden of plants on it, which
is the reason why I write to you all. I would like to ask if everyone
could send a £1 toward the purchase of plants. We have over
700 members of PITY II, if everyone gave a £1 it would raise
enough for plants, and make up the difference to a memorial bench.
Wendy Natale ran a marathon and raised £130 towards a bench
for the memorial, if you all sent a £1 we could do both. A
memorial bench costs £400.
I
would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to Wendy for
raising the money and to say thank you to those who sent a £1.
You
can contact at me at any of the contact points listed above. Please
send your donations for PITY II but mark them Memorial Garden. Thank
You
Sheila
