The Review of Coroners Services As you know from previous pages, in the summer of 2001 a special group was set up by the government to conduct a fundamental review of the Coroner's services in England, Wales & Northern Ireland. It is chaired by Mr. Tom Luce and financed by the Home Office. The review team
have visited Northern Ireland and Wales as well as all the regions
of England. On these visits they have met with many individuals, families,
professional bodies, religious groups, voluntary organisations and
support groups, listening to their experiences and views Past newsletters/web reports have invited PITY II members to contact the Coroners Review Team to tell them of their experiences. Details of how to contact them were printed on a number of occasions. We hope, as many of you as possible were able to do so. Members of the review team have met PITY II on a number of occasions. On the 30th October 2002 the Coroners Review Team paid a visit to Liverpool to consult with various groups. PITY II representatives were invited and they attended a meeting in the Holiday Inn .Liverpool. The Coroners
Review Team expects to have their report ready for March 2003.
