Review of Coroners Services As stated in
the Alan Milburn article and as reported in previously, the Home Office
appointed a team to carry out a review of the coroners system in England,
Wales and Northern Ireland. The chair of the review team Mr Tom Luce
and their Secretary Mr Mike Gallagher last visited PITY II in October
of 2001. We have been
informed that PITY II has been chosen to be part of the reference
group that has now been set up to assist in the review. It is not
intended at this stage to meet as one body, but for members of the
review team to visit at intervals. The next visit is proposed for
the 12th of June 2002. To reiterate
what was stated in previously, 'the review team would welcome any
input from individuals with views and experiences that they would
like to share with them. If you would like to send a summary of your
experiences of the coroner system and any changes that you would like
to see, please do so'. The
name and address once again is:
