Reacts to Latest News from Alder Hey
A letter received from Eddie Allen
in the light of new revelations concerning Alder Hey
Dear
members of Pity II and all parents,
I
would like to take this opportunity to express my horror, dismay
and sadness at the latest horror story to emerge involving the retention
of children's body parts without the consent of parents or next
of kin.
It
seems that all the promises, assurances and guarantees have fallen
on deaf ears. Ears that will not listen, ears that refuse to listen,
ears that only listen in secret. I'm quite certain that this latest
outrage will have nothing to do with the good decent staff at Alder
Hey, but the two faced proven liars who expect the present liars
to continue to lie, cheat, swindle and downright deny what is happening
in order to protect their own precious status.
Some
time ago certain people in high places were blaming us parents for
the decline in the popularity of Alder Hey Hospital. I now wonder
if the management will now blame the present parents and their loved
ones for this latest disgrace that Alder Hey have put themselves
in. This further disgrace that the management now finds themselves
in will do nothing good for Alder Hey Hospital or its dedicated
staff.
It
seems that no lessons have been learned from the first outrageous
events. Events that will remain with a lot of parents for a long
time. This may be an ideal time for all of us to confront the people
in high places to change the law right now, not tomorrow.
I
would also like to take this opportunity to express my sorrow to
the present parents and relatives caught up in this present situation,
also to say thanks to all the parents and relatives that I have
got to know over the past two and a half years.
