Oxford
Visit
On Wednesday
10th April, Jan Robinson and Alice Procter, as members of Pity II,
visited Kidlington in Oxford. They were accompanied by Wendy Natale
who was invited by Oxford CHC.
The families
in Oxfordshire have experienced long delays in getting information
from the Radcliffe Trust. That evening they collected names for a
committee and arranged to meet on the 24th April.
We wish them
well and hope that as a support group they will be able to help each
other and secure a more speedy response from the trust.
The following
letter was sent from Oxfordshire Community Health Council to PITY II
following the meeting.
Dear
Wendy, Jan and Alice,
Just
a quick note to say thank you so much for taking the trouble to
come down to Oxford for last night's meeting. It was really valuable
to have your talk, and just having your presence was worth a very
great deal. We were quite anxious about how the evening would go,
but I think we managed to keep pointing in the right general direction,
and I hope that we can build on that when I meet with the budding
committee in a fortnight.
I
realised with horror (at some point in the night!) that we failed
to give you a formal thank you at the end of the meeting - we certainly
meant to.but somehow it didn't happen. Time ran away, and I am sorry
about the omission.
So
please take this as an assurance of our gratitude. We will probably
be in touch with you again once the support group gets itself under
way - I'm sure they wíll be only too glad to lean from the
hard-won experience of PITY 2.
With
all good wishes,
Linda Watson
