animated presentation of the words "Never Again!"

A poem for Jason

A little bit of Dad,
A little bit of Mum.
Born on the Sabbath day,
They didn't let her hold you,
They took you straight away.

You held on but you just weren't strong,
You had to lose the fight.
Mum just had to carry on,
She felt that this was right.

Now twenty-three years have passed,
They have thought of you each day,
But nothing that I say or do,
Will take the pain away.

For our mum it has been hard,
The pain she tries to hide,
But the way she feels I know,
Still hurts deep down inside.

For dad too, it must be hard,
Even though he is a man.
Why did they do this to you?
None of us can understand.

For me it burns so bad,
I just can't imagine how they feel,
What they went through back then they now have to face again,
I wish it was not real.

Even now for her it hurts so much,
Sometimes she just can't speak.
She just sits numb and hangs her head,
As the tears run down her cheek.

I think that you're an angel,
Took from them to live up above,
And I know that Grandma holds your hand,
And gives you lots of love.

I sometimes think if you had lived,
Would there still be a me?
For some unexplainable reason,
I can't help feeling guilty.

We know we are not on our own,
There are others going through the same thing.
But when we get our loved ones back,
What rest will the answers bring?

Someone somewhere can't sleep at night,
They see the image when they turn out the light,
I do not wish them any pain,
But I hope they never have any peace again.

We know you're up in paradise with Gran, Grandad and Auntie too,
We know they teach you many things and take good care of you.

Even now it hurts so bad,
It won't ever go away.
But I do find ease of mind knowing,
I'll meet you someday.
