Consumers in National Health Research Support Unit Consumers in National Health Research Support Unit is an advisory
group on consumer involvement in research and development in the NHS.
Roger Steel, Field Worker for the above department paid us a visit on 11th October to give a talk about his group and to explain what it was all about. Their work was very wide ranging and encompassed a huge variety of subjects. Obviously the interest in research from point of view of the Pity II
membership is rather specific and specialised. It had been suggested
that Mr Steel's group could put on a seminar for parents/relatives
in Liverpool but it would have to include the whole umbrella of subjects
that the department cover and so may not work for PITY II. However it was suggested that representatives of PITY II be
invited to attend a meeting with the Consumers in NHS Research Team
in the near future. Mr Steel has since informed us that he has some ideas of how a seminar
might work for us and will be putting some outline proposals to us
within the next few weeks. We will keep you informed. We have a limited number of leaflets, so if you would like a copy please contact the office. Website: www.conres.co.uk/
