Letter from the Crown Prosecution Service Crown Prosecution
Service Dear Mrs O'Leary, Re: Alder Hey You will recall that when I wrote in July I explained the kinds of difficulties presented by the particular circumstances that we were being asked to consider. Since that time, a great deal of further work has been done to resolve those difficulties, and indeed the outstanding issues have now been narrowed down substantially. There remains, however, one key area still to be resolved. In that regard, we are presently working very closely not only with the police, but also with leading counsel and with an eminent academic, and indeed further meetings have been arranged for October (being the earliest date that both counsel and the academic are available). Once these meetings have taken place, I will write again. I hope this is helpful. I confirm that I am happy for you to print this letter in the PITY II newsletter, if you wish to do so. Yours sincerely,
