Memorial ServiceAnimated candle

A very constructive meeting was held at Liverpool Cathedral to discuss the memorial service. This was open to all parents.

It was agreed that there would be a small group of parents who would work with the Dean of the Cathedral on planning the service. The provisional date is the 10th of November, the day before Remembrance Sunday. Although there had been a suggestion that Holy Innocents Day (28th December) might be a good day for the service; as this was the day that commemorates the slaughter by King Herod of the male children it was not felt to be a good idea.

PITY II (Parents who have Interred Their Young Twice) is the parents' support group set up in the wake of the organ retention scandal
at Alder Hey Hospital (Liverpool, UK). It aims to provide self help support and advice to affected families.
