Olivia M. Lamasan

has a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts from Maryknoll College. She had written award-winning scripts and worked on television in various capacities prior to her big break as film director. Her debut film in 1994, Maalala Mo Kaya, gained positive response from critics and mass audiences alike. It won the top plum in the Manila Film Festival and went on to represent the country in the First Aichi International Women's Film Festival in Japan just a year ago. Her second film which she finished in 1995, Sana Maulit Muli, was adjudged best picture at the Urian and listed as among the year's best by the rest of the award-giving bodies. Madrasta, her most recent output, also figured in various local derbies and even made big news for scoring a grand slam for megastar Sharon Cuneta in the best actress category. She is currently the head of the Creative Department of Star Cinema, the film production arm of the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Company.
