Before you view the political books that I have listed below, I would like to give you a humorous quote from Samuel Clemens (aka Mark Twain) regarding the natural political instincts of the human family.

We are discreet sheep; we wait to see how the drove is going, and then go with the drove.

Constitutional Chaos : What Happens When the Government Breaks Its Own Laws by Andrew P. Napolitano, distills the personal experience of this former judge, law professor and lawyer. He describes how various government agencies run roughshod over the rights of average citizens as they seek to get the shreds of our constitution out of their way in their zeal to prosecute or abuse citizens at will. The War on Freedom: How and Why America was Attacked, September 11, 2001, by Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed, gives the evidence that the 9-11 attack was orchestrated from within America, not from without. The average customer rating is four and a half stars. Death in the Air: Globalism, Terrorism & Toxic Warfare, by Dr. Leonard G. Horowitz. Dr. Horowitz puts his evidence on the table to support his theory that the "New World Order" is playing all sides against the middle to purge world population, consolidate their control of the world, and get richer than they already are at the same time. Granted we are talking extreme conspiracy theory here, but if he provides enough evidence to prove even a fraction of his charges, it is something every citizen needs to know. The average customer rating is four and a half out of five stars. Target Iraq: What the News Media Didn't Tell You, by Norman Solomon, Reese Erlich, Howard Zinn (Introduction), Sean Penn. Solomon and Erlich present some of the information that the corporate media chose to ignore regarding our adventures in Iraq. One reviewer had the following comments about the book,"The chapter dealing with Depleted Uranium alone is worth the price of the book. The authors cite the dangers of an eventual epidemic breaking out among invading forces and the general populace, classifying Depleted Uranium as "America's Dirty Secret." As the authors state, "Depleted uranium is the material left over from the processing of nuclear fuel. The U.S. military uses DU as a substitute for lead to fill the core of special ammunition. Depleted Uranium is 1.7 times denser than lead ... " In addition to stressing the potential risk to Iraqi civilians resulting from Depleted Uranium, along with citing the deferential treatment from the media concerning invasion plans, as well as showcasing American unilateralism, the authors also cover the important oil issue." The Shadows of Power: The Council on Foreign Relations and the American Decline, by James Perloff. America is being taken for a ride on a global power elite bus. Perloff tells you who is driving, how far we have come, and where they want to take us. One reviewer had the following comments about the book,"This book is good for establishing the fact that members of the Council on Foreign Relations appear inordinately often in our government, but it is not so good at explaining the dynamic behind this process. If you are aware of the activities of the CFR, this book will probably be rehash. If not, it may open your eyes to how our political system really operates." The average customer rating is four and one half out of five stars. Disposable People: New Slavery in the Global Economy, by Kevin Bales, documents the tens of millions of people who are bought and sold as actual slaves in the current world economy. Women and children sold into sexual slavery as prostitutes comprise a large proportion of these people. One editorial review states the following about the book, "The exhaustive research in Disposable People shows that at least 27 million people are currently enslaved around the world. Bales, considered the world's leading expert on contemporary slavery, reveals the historical and economic conditions behind this resurgence. From Thailand, Mauritania, Brazil, Pakistan, and India, Bales has gathered stories of people in unthinkable conditions, kept in bondage to support their owners' lives. Bales insists that even a small effort from a large number of people could end slavery, and devotes a large chapter to explaining the practical means by which this might be accomplished." Bushwhacked: Life in George W. Bush's America, by Molly Ivins and Lou Dubose, is a description of the fruits that we have harvested from the "W" bush. A portion of the editorial review states the following about the book, "Simply put, Bush, according to Ivins, has abandoned the interests of American citizens for the interests of corporate America. Two things distinguish this from the rest of the burgeoning anti-Bush literature: Ivins's substantive arguments and her language and humor, which are refreshingly inventive." The Real Lincoln : A New Look at Abraham Lincoln, His Agenda, and an Unnecessary War by Thomas DiLorenzo, exposes a significant portion of the political origins of the Civil War. Given the exalted myth that has arisen around the legacy of Lincoln's actions this book is inherently controversial for the average student of American history. This books sets an interesting stage for the unfoldment of the current world empire ambitions of America's leadership. The average customer rating is three and a half stars.
