My Friend

A smiling face like a cloudless day
Sunshine that warms up my soul
My friend you came into my life
And now I feel so whole

Your friendship means so much to me
Your love and kinship too
You make me laugh, you wipe my tears
When I'm feeling blue

I can't imagine what life would be like
Without you here with me
To share our love, to live so happy
To set our spirits free

Your gentle voice, your cheeky ways
Your humor so much like mine
I love you friend, I'll stand by you
Until the end of time

True Friends

Friendship is a word
That is often used too freely
We meet a person, call them friend
But do we know them, really?

Friendship can't be bought
Or called upon so quickly
You build it up, you work on it
It doesn't happen swiftly!

True friends always last
False friends fade away
True friends stick around
Even in the darkest day

Friendship takes some time
But the time spent is worth it
Friends are true, like me and you
Our friendship is a great hit!!

The Beach

Walking on the beach
Is always so much fun
You can take your dog for a walk
Or let him have a run

Not too close to the water now
Or very soon you'll see
Just how messy a soggy dog
All over you, will be!!

Spring

Spring is the time
The romantics all say
When all of our hormones
Are well on the way

To turn all our worlds
upside down
And take all our hearts
For a ride to town

Cupid shoots his arrows
Straight into the hearts
Of all God's little creatures
Not knowing how he parts

Our sense and sensibility
From our rational minds
In Spring our thoughts are mush ball
So we often find!!

Sheep

My mind begins to wonder
When I think of wooly sheep
But please don't think I'm loony
Or acting rather deep

Sheep are soft and curly
And are as cute as they can be
But you'd never ever see one
Climbing up a tree

Sheep have too much dignity
To lower themsleves to that!
They would rather sit and ponder
Leave the tree climbing to Farmer Pratt!!

Mixed Nuts

Mixed Nuts is my name
And poetry is my game
After reading a few of them
You're never quite the same

I love to make people laugh and smile
And spread some joy around
But melting sanity seems to make
A God awful bloody sound!

I try to be a friend that's true
To be there in the time of need
I'd give my all for friends like you
No such a thing as greed

My heart is soft, my smile is real
My eyes shine forth in cheek
But after spending a day with me
You're loony for the rest of the week!!!

Modems

Modem's were invented in hell
I'm sure you'd all agree
"Line Drops" and "Time Outs"
It drives you up the bloody tree!!

But modems can be fun
Even though they seldom work
And whoever thought of inventing them
Is some sadistic jerk!

Mischef knows it to be true
As she demonstrates freely
But is it, that she gets cut off?
Does that happen really?

Life

Deep inside the souless darkness of mother earth's recesses
A lone seed struggles its way to burst through to the unyielding surface
What is the use? Why are we here? What am I doing?
I wonder if these are the questions on its uniform mind
Regardless it shoots free of the sodden dirt that would hinder its pittiful progress
It stands tall in the warm Summer sun, basking in the life giving rays
Only to be trampled and mindlessly crushed, by an unsuspecting passerby
Perishing, withering, dying in the cruel, blasting heat of Summer's unforgiving rays
It portrays its final glance at the world it so briefly experienced
Then Life no longer is its friend ... but its tormentor...

Scotty/Kirk

You came into my life
When friends were oh so rare
I'd prayed for months and months
For a friend who's never there

See false friends you can find
Their numbers do abound
But when you really need them
They're never quite around!

Your friendship is a treasure
A jewel so rich and fine
I could search the whole world over
And never find one so devine

I miss you when you're gone
I look for you in each "face"
But when you "log off" you're outta there
You don't even leave a trace

God made us to be friends
I know this to be true
It will last for all eternity
This's my poem, from me to you!

Rebecca

My sister in my heart of hearts.
My sister in my soul.
My good friend from the very start.
You helped to make me whole.

Your words of comfort flash 'cross my screen.
Your love, it pours through too.
Pure friendship like I've never seen.
Can only come from you.

You stand by me through thick and thin.
You lead me through life's bends.
You care for me and won't give in.
My sister, my sister, my friend.

Happy Birthday Glen (my brother)

I don't have the money for diamonds and gold,
Or a romantic cruise on the lake.
I could always give you a custom made car,
But I'm sorry it'd have to be a fake!

I can't give you riches or a luxury house.
I can't even buy you a meal.
I can't give you a camera, or even the film.
I would give you them all, I'm for real!

I'm sitting at this desk with tears in my heart.
But I pray that you understand.
That all my good intentions, went some what astray,
By something that was out of my hand.

I hope that this poem, which is from my heart,
And the love that comes with it too,
Is even but a token, a gift from my soul.
Happy Birthday Glen, you know I love you!!!
