The Holy Spirit

By Timothy Glover

The Holy Spirit and his work is a lengthy study. We cannot possibly address every topic relating to him. Still, many issues can be addressed and I will attempt to be as fair and objective as I can as we look into the Bible for the answers to our questions.

Some preliminary remarks are appropriate before we begin. First, we will begin with the premise that the Holy Spirit is a person rather than a mere influence or emanation of the Father/Son. Secondly, conversion is neither pardon nor salvation. Conversion which implies "a turning" takes place in man while pardon takes place in the mind of God. Paul was sent to the Gentiles "to open their eyes, that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God, (this describes what individuals do when they convert) that they may receive remission of sins.... (what takes place in the mind of God).
