Cancer Awareness Program© |
To help promote the awareness
of Childhood cancers our founder, Brandon Young , developed this program by creating a
symbol that represents the children that are warriors fighting for their
lives against a very mean disease. Brandon chose to design a ribbon to represent Childhood
Cancer AWARENESS and to remember so many children stricken with cancer that have been
pioneers in helping to solve our leading cause of non - accidental death in children under
15 in America today. MBYCCF RIBBON
White with multi-colored
stars .
The white background signifies life
The stars signify all the different races and sexes of children all over the world who are
the true heroes in fighting this disease.

Gifts for
You Program©
Click here to see pictures from our
recent visit to Egleston Hospital. |
This program allows MBYCCF
to show our gratitude . For the courage and strength all children diagnosed with cancer
possess, we are astounded. To imagine the
daily routine of a child diagnosed with cancer is unthinkable. The endless painful and
exhausting test .The numerous canceling of events scheduled with friends and family
including birthdays and holidays. The reality of having thoughts of losing your life when
your life has just begun is more than most can imagine.
The Gift For You program allows MBYCCF to send care
packages filled with nice things. Items such as; Toys, and candy. Beanie Babies and cross
word puzzles. Even parking passes for Mom and Dad . MBYCCF strongly believes that laughter
is the best medicine. We want the children we serve to smile.

Angels on
Earth Program©
|
Everyday children are
blessed with love and care from people they share their day with. Children with cancer
spend much of their time with Doctors, and nurses. Lab Technicians, and volunteers. Social
workers and researchers. For this reason we
developed the Angels on Earth program. Angels on Earth is an award given by the MBYCCF for
outstanding care-giving ,and dedication to the medical profession. Awards are given based
on children and parents feedback for the care they have been shown throughout their ordeal
with cancer. Many families cannot afford to say thank you in a monetary or material form.
Many parents say how do you thank someone for saving my childs life ? We hope that
an award in recognizing someone in the medical profession can show families appreciation
and admiration for a special care giver and fighter for the war against cancer.

A Friendly Hand©
|
A Friendly Hand is an out of
state, out patient childhood cancer support program. This program is designed to allow
MBYCCF to allocate funds for specific needs for families. Because cancer treatment is
normally at least a 1 year protocol, expenses for a family can be over whelming. Many
families move from their community into a hospital / medical community for treatments.
MBYCCF allocates funds under this program for :
- Parking credits for clinic visits
- Wheel- chair reimbursement
- Overnight lodging requirements
for treatment purposes
- Phone cards for family and
child
- Lunch/Dinner certificates at participating
restaurants
- Assistance with grocery bill (not to exceed $
100.00 per child, per family )
To qualify under this program you and your
child must have re-located for treatment. At the time of assistance your child must be
treated as
out-patient. The reason for this is many hospitals provide parking credits, wheel
chair assistance, and provide food for the child and family member while admitted in a
hospital as an in - patient. This program targets families that are already under a
financial burden because of the re-location required. The Leukemia Society and American
Cancer Society have similar programs that do not require you to be on a out patient basis.
Please check with these organizations if our program does not meet your situation.
If you are interested
in sponsoring this program please contact us. We are seeking corporate
and individual sponsorships. All contributions are tax deductible and
you choose the amount or gift you want to give. Remember, every penny
really does count.

Washington
University School of Medicine, located in St. Louis will be the first
recipient of Brandon's Foundation "Age of Technology" program.
This program is designed to provide continued education for children being
treated in the hospital for cancer. With a generous donation
to us, from Todd Deutscher, President of Empowered Solutions, located in
Alpharetta, Georgia, the 22 bed inpatient oncology floor at the University
will now be able to offer children a way to link up with their schools and
stay up to date with class assignments. "It is a way to keep
young people connected with the outside world during their
treatments," says Marnie Hauff, School Liaison for the Pediatric
Hematology/Oncology floor at Washington University. Our
goal is to donate 4 laptops to children's hospitals to assist in
continuing children's education in the year 2000.
If you think of throwing
that older laptop of yours away for a new one, think of us, we know what
to do with it!
