The Cats of Alley Cat Rose Studio: Bandit

Bandit

Bandit was a feral cat who came by for food and then decided to live in our backyard. One day, we noticed that he had an abcess on the side of his face and it seemed to be getting worse every day. We managed to get Bandit to go into a cat carrier. That tells you how sick he really was! We took him to Doctor "C" (Edwin Cuevas, DVM) at David's Animal Clinc where emergency surgery was performed.
We discovered he was at least five years old and that while he was one of the fortunate few cats who managed to live that long without contracting some terrible disease, he had three kinds of worms and all sorts of things that required lots of medication. After surgery, Bandit was kept inside to recover from everything.
Once he recovered, Bandit was invited to live in the Studio. Three meals a day and all the dry food he could eat must have seemed like a good deal to him because he's lived here for ten years.
Bandit is approximately fifteen years old, possibly eighteen. Bandit is still going strong; he weighs nearly twenty pounds and despite the look on his face here, he is affectionate and playful. The picture below appeared on the cover of Alley Cat Magazine. Bandit's "tough mug" has been featured in several publications.
