Imoen Life

Welcome to Imoen Boxers.

We are situated in Canberra, Australia. All kennels have a story to tell about how they got to where they are now, so here is the IMOEN story, which goes something like this.....

I was interested in horses before I was interested in dogs. I spent most weekends showing horses or at least preparing them for the show ring. But although I had a few cats at the time, there was something missing from the household. A canine companion.

Soda (Moytop Shesaknockout AD JD) became a family member in June 2000 and she was just the most adorable thing I had ever seen. She was everything that I had been looking for, energetic, crazy and loveable. I enrolled her into the local Obedience Club to train her so that life would be a little easier when sharing a house with her.

After owning Soda for around a year, I started to become interested in conformation showing. I started showing Soda, but she soon became bitter in the show ring and we decided that there was more we could do, apart from showing. This is when I entered her into Agility training.

It was also just after this that Soda was put into whelp. On 6 August 2001 Soda produced 6 healthy puppies. Out of this litter I kept Winston (Australian Champion Imoen First Appearance). Winston was slow to mature, and now at the age of 6, has won several Best of Breeds in the conformation ring. Winston gained his Australian Championship title at Easter in 2005. This was my first homebred champion, of many to come.

Soda went back to her agility training after her litter and in June 2003 gained her Novice Agility title in only 6 trials. Closely followed by her Novice Jumping title.

In 2007 I entered my next era of Boxers and bred my first litter of Bobtail (natually short tailed) Boxers. Thank you to Janet and Darryl of Boxberry Boxers in allowing me the privilage of using "Elmo" to produce such a nice litter of pups. Out of this litter you will see the Next Generation of Imoen Boxers strutting their stuff in the conformation ring, but watch out for them in the obedience and agility rings as well! I have learnt a lot over these past years about the Boxer breed and I am sure there is still a lot to learn. Imoen Boxer's strive to breed quality Boxers that are sound in body and in mind and also place temperament at the top of our list.
Imoen Boxer puppies, when we have them, are raised in the comfort of my home and socialised with other dogs and people, including children....
My Boxers are trained in Obedience and Agility, which keeps them mentally and physically fit and allows them to have a bit of fun all at the same time.

My dogs are part of the family and I couldn’t imagine life without them.

I hope you enjoy your visit to Imoen Boxers.
