Don't you know? Haven't you heard? The Lord is the everlasting God; he created all the world. He never grows tired or weary. No one understands his thoughts. He strenthens those who are weak and tired. Even those who are young grow weak; young men can fall exhausted. But those who trust in the Lord for help will find their strenth renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will walk and not grow weak.

I visited the language school at ewha for the survey. Korean students, who have cohabited before, tend to hide the fact that they have, concerning about their bad reputation from others. Therefore, I decided to conduct this survey to foreigners who seem to be relatively open to this topic-cohabitation. I met various nationalities such as Japan, Germany, Switzland, Canada, Parkistan, the U.K. and so on. I was surprised that there are so many international students who are studying Korean for their job or for learning Korean culture. Anyways~ I'm looking forward to the result of the survey which seems to be very interesting~

The result of the survey turned out to be more complicated than I expected. There are age and culture differences as well as gender. Esp. culture differences seem to be evident between Europe and Asia. Cohabitation has been common in Europe, so Europeans' view on the cohabitation is quite different from that of Asians. I was supposed to show men's and women's perspective on cohabitation. Now, I don't know how to deal with this complication.

May. 2, 2003 I went to Youngdong junior high school where I'm going to be a student teacher this month. So, I won't be able to attend the class for a month. I'm afraid that I won't be able to play dual roles, a student teachr and a university student, at the same time.

I¡¯m studying Biblical studies for my double major. I was trying to find Biblical women figures, Sarah and Hagar. I found that Yahoo site is most useful to get information related to what I¡¯m studying. It is evident that Yahoo has the most submitted Web pages among Internet Subject Directories that listed on the Search Engine Chart. In other words, it has the most information. Therefore, even though I didn¡¯t choose the category where the information that I¡¯m looking for would be, I could get a lot of results of ¡°Sarah AND Hagar.¡± However, in other search engines, no results came out till I specified the subject categories or subcategories. Sometimes, it is hard to guess which category the information belongs to. In this case, you can roughly see the results doing keyword searches first, and get the idea what kinds of category can contain the information. For example, I realized that ¡°Sarah and Hagar¡± can be viewed in terms of feminism as well as religion, looking at all the results listed only using keyword searches. Then, I browsed the information more precisely through the classifications like women studies and Christianity.

I finished practicing teaching in Youngdong middle school. I taught grade 7th students English. I had really great time with them. I missed many things from my classes, because of being absent, but I¡¯ve got so many things from my experience as a student teacher in the middle school. English classes in a middle school have improved since I graduated in terms of teaching and learning methods and environment. I can see more students in Korea are getting better at English skills. Click here to see some photos of my students.
