Hilight Tribe is the meeting point for many musical cultures where Africa meets the Orient, where new electronic music meets traditional ethnic music. Seven cool guys from seven different ethnic and musical corners of the world met, who really put on the heat! Ludo and Greg’s influences from Indian music, Terrence and Rishnu’s from Jazz music, Seb’s from Break Beat and Electronic music and Roots’ from Reggae and World music.
In Hilight Tribe’s music the percussions (djembé, congas, tabla, dundun and the drum) is used as the main part of the rhythm section. Other instruments played are the Didgeridoo , the bass, the guitar and the shruti box.
Each musician contributes pieces from his background with the others contribuiting their ideas. The end results is this absolutely exhilarating first CD! This is for everyone who likes rhythm, percussion, psychedelic and trance music!
Along with exciting rhythms is the ability to enthral audiences with a great command of complex musical arrangements and improvisional brilliance.
The group has appeared in many of the most famous psychedelic and trance events of France (D-Mention, Gaia, Magic Garden, Dome ), and Ibiza also and many other prestigious festivals like the Solipse festival in Hungary.
They have worked together in the Ibiza mountains to create a new album for the new Millenium.
