Indigenous cultural dance of Nepal
   

 

Dance is a key component of indigenous culture of Nepal . Nepalese cultural dance is categorized as either classical dance or folk dance.

 

 

CLASSICAL DANCE :

            Classical dance of Nepal is related to a particular deity or deities described in Hindu or Buddhist mythology. While performing classical dance, the performer wears special  robe, ornaments and holds  a  special  object  that  signifies  the  concerned deity. The following is a list of most popular Nepalese classical dance:

                Folk  dance of Nepal forms a part of Nepalese indigenous culture.Folk dance is a traditional dance of a particular community of Nepal.While performing folk dance,the performer wears traditional costume and makeup typical to the concerned community.The following is a list of Nepalese folk dance:
