Whither justice........?

Timothy McVeigh, The Oklahoma bomber, executed for killing 168 of his fellow human beings, including 19 children. Justice or vengence?
America played a leading role in negotiating Ireland's Good Friday Agreement, which led to the release of hundreds of convicted terrorists.

This is America. There will be no Good Friday Agreement for Tim's army.
Martin McGuinness, one of the leaders of the IRA and Sinn Fein, and Northern Ireland's Education Minister, responsable for the deaths of many more than McVeigh. Where is the justice for his victims?
What message does this give to the terrorists of the world?

Sinn Fein is now the most popular 'nationalist' party in Northern Ireland.

Ireland says: "Fuck EU,
I'm all right (now) Jacques"
The Irish people have spoken, and blocked the expansion of the European Union by voting against the Nice Treaty in a referendum.

Dana: you really have to wonder at the mentality of the people who voted for her, embarrasing the Irish Nation by putting her on public show in the European Parliament
The no campaign, accused by the Irish government of being funded by right wing American fundamentalists, included such democratic heavyweights as, Sinn Fein (IRA) and Catholic fundamentalists, who claimed that the Treaty could legalise abortion etc., etc., in Ireland. Of course, having such pillars of society such as Dr. Philip Boyce, Bishop of Raphoe, and MEP Dana spouting the same rubbish didn't help, as the low turnout of 34.7% of voters ensured that the looney brigade would win. In Donegal, even the normally pro Fianna Fail British owned local 'newspaper' appeared to be giving better coverage to the no campaigners.
It will probably never be known excactly why the majority of the majority voted no, whether because of abortion, neutrality, racism, or just plain greed as Ireland's EU funding runs out, or a combination of these and other concerns. One thing is certain though, Ireland has seriously pissed off the EU.
Since Ireland's Green Party called for the government to use it's veto to stop the treaty's ratification throughout the rest of the EU and the Irish Minister for Finance, Charlie McCreevy said that he thought the no vote "was a remarkably healthy developement", sources have informed Mad-as-Hell.Com that at least one grouping in Brussels is seeking a full investigation into excactly what extent Ireland's political manipulation of it's black economy was used in the creation of the celtic tiger economy. Opponents of this investigation are arguing that it would play into the hands of those, such as the British Conservative Party, who are against further European integration. As the Cetic Tiger bites the hand that fed it for so long, is the European Union strong enough to bite back.....?

Thomas scores for his home team!
Donegal's independent TD, Thomas Gildea has announced the birth of a son, with his young wife, Ailish. Thomas, who is in his 60s, has said that "Having a new baby is definitely a more joyous occasion than the election. It is without a doubt the biggest moment of my life."
We at Mad-as-Hell.Com, who have been critical of the TD in the past, sincerely wish him and his new family well, and hope that his new perspective of life will persuade him to come clean about the
[******] businessman who installed and maintained most of Donegal's deflectors and the fact that the public was misled when told that the county's systems were voluntarily set up by the community, for the community. It might not make him popular with the voters, but he could leave his son a legacy to be proud of should he tell the whole story of this and other things in the constituency that he claims to be aware of; a different legacy to what he could leave, should the mainstream media get there first.

Baaarking mad?
A Donegal farmer has lost his flock of sheep, claiming them to be stolen. The Gardai (the Irish police farce) are treating the case as 'a missing flock', rather than stolen, but are unable to look for the sheep in neighbouring farm land, due to the foot and mouth restrictions.

Something fishy in Killybegs
Sources have informed Mad-as Hell.Com that rotten fish is being processed for human consumption in a fish processing factory in Donegal

He's back again....

(not that the little shit was ever away)

Still proof of his own government's hypocricy
Details as usual in our March edition.

Irish government gives in to blackmail
The four independent TDs supporting the government, including Donegal's Thomas Gildea have succeeded in their blackmail attempt by forcing the government to drop the 'dual mandate' from the Local Government Bill.
This means that they will be able to continue to keep their local Co.Council seats as well as sit in Ireland's parliament. The stand-off between the goverment and the four Independents over the so-called dual mandate, had held up the passage of the Local Government Bill into law. The goverment has been adamant that the ban on TDs sitting on councils was necessary to the plan to reform local government. However, the four independents, who hold the balance of power, were equally vocal in their opposition to the proposal. Mildred Fox, Jackie Healy-Rea, Harry Blaney and Thomas Gildea argued their survival in national politics depended on the maintenance of their positions on their county councils. Rows over many months failed to deliver a compromise and the government bowed to the pressure and withdrew the proposal.
A government spokesman said that the Independents had been loyal supporters of the coalition. He said that it was the first time in four years they had taken a strong view on a government proposal [Ed note: not excactly accurate] and the government was bowing to their wishes. In other words, earn money in your spare time ...... blackmail the government.
Of course, blackmailing the government over something other than a self interest issue appears to have been out of the question, with the news that hundreds of cancer stricken women throughout the country and particularly in Donegal, have had their breasts needlessly removed due to the lack of local radiation therepy facilities. Indeed, Ireland's cancer treatment as a whole has not been favourably compared to countries such as Bosnia.

What a babe!
Gobeen man
Neil Blaney's brother.. remember the arms crisis?
Tom the stud
So, sue me!

65,000 out of work, 134,000 claiming dole
That's right, half the people in Ireland who are on the dole are working, and that's the official figure, from the Central Statistics Office for May. But it's not all bad news, at least it's an improvment from 1996, when only 25% claiming 'dole' were found to be fully entitled to what they got.
Ireland is expected to import 32,000 foreign workers this year because of the labour shortage, up from 18,000 last year.

Idiots On Line re-define the meaning of 'unlimited use'
IOL, (owned by British Telecom) providers of Ireland's only unmetered internet access, are cutting off 10% (2000) of their customers who they claim are using the service too much.
IOL provide free (subject to a £20 monthly fee) access to the internet during off-peak times....6pm to 8am, weekdays, and all day/night, weekends. Any customers who have used the service for much more than 2 hours a day are being cut off. The remainder of suscribers who phoned to complain can continue to use the unmetered service, provided they use the service no longer than 75 hours a month. For those who didn't phone, tough.

Crime doesn't pay?
Veteran campaigner for the homeless Father Peter McVerry has said that hundreds of people every year are leaving Ireland's prison system to end up homeless, jobless and forced to sleep rough.
This is in contrast to those released from prison, who haven't paid their debt to society, those convicted terrorists released under the Good Friday Agreement, who got paid substancial 'compensation' on their release.

Donegal Garda taking bribes
A member of the Gardai (the Irish police farce) has been accused of taking money in exchange for turning a blind eye to both serious and minor driving offences by sources interviewed by Mad-as-Hell.Com. As yet, there is no corroborating evidence, but given the alleged and rumoured level of corruption in Donegal's Gardai and no independent body for dealing with complaints against Ireland's police service, it's unlikely that anyone will come forward.

Donegal businesses knackered
Ireland's travelling community has achieved something that even foot and mouth disease couldn't do, and forced Donegal entertainment venues to close for a time, in a display of apparent racism over the June bank holiday. Known localy as knackers, gypsies, tinkers, or just plain scum, the community have been staying in various areas around Donegal, where pubs etc. closed early rather than serve them.
In the Donegal village of Mountcharles, where members of the travelling community spent last summer quietly parked by the beach, the locals complained that they were blocking the public's access. This year, locals solved the problem by getting Donegal Co. Council to block access to the beach by placing large blocks of stone at the entrance. As one local said to us when interviewed, "the last time the beach was used by the local community, was when we removed the sand dunes to use the sand on our GAA pitch, so it won't affect us".

A sheep in the hand is worth 2 in the EU?
An independent survey has estimated that EU subsidy fraud could be as high as 33% among Irish sheep farmers.
Although not as high as in Ireland, the same survey has shown this type of fraud to be high in all EU member states.

Foot and mouth scandal continues
Despite the complaints made to the authorities, still no practicle
FMD precautions are being taken in most of the Joe Walsh, Ireland's minister for bullshit
county. The politicians continue their standard spin doctoring with the aid of the local press which continues it's silence about the their lies.
The minister for agriculture, Joe Walsh has ordered an investigation into the 20% extra livestock discovered in the Cooley peninsular where major fraud is suspected. We at Mad-as-Hell.Com brought the matter of this fraud up over a month previously.
Some restrictions have now been reduced. Farmers no longer need a permit to walk (on foot?....foot and mouth disease?)their livestock 'a short distance' ('a short distance' has not been defined) However, a permit is still required to move animals by vehicle, regardless of how short the journey. One can only marvel at the 'experts' that came up with that one...
