Paramedic Roy DeSoto

Roy DeSoto is a bit more seasoned and experienced than his junior partner, Johnny Gage. DeSoto is a married man with two children, and is a bit cautious because of this. Generally speaking, Roy is considered an all-around nice guy. He was one of the first officers to complete paramedic training, and has served on the Paramedic Advisory Committee with his partner, John Gage. Roy's cautious attitude has led him to question his position as a paramedic, but he is a master of the profession, and sticks with it throughout the pitfalls and challenges. Like his partner, he gets involved with many of his rescue victims, even though it is against his better judgment. Roy is stable and quick thinking, but that doesn't stop him from getting injured from time to time in this very hazardous profession. Ultimately, he is a fine example of an officer and is eventually rewarded with a promotion to Captain.

Paramedic John Gage

Johnny Gage is bright, ambitious and a real ladies man. He began his career as a firefighter, but took the EMT program to become an emergency paramedic. In the field, he is a cool and quick thinker and has what it takes to get things done, though he has a tendency to get emotionally involved with his rescue victims. He also is a bit accident-prone, sustaining countless injuries on the job. Perhaps this is why his partner, Roy DeSoto rarely lets John drive the squad truck. In his private life, Johnny is a bit of a dreamer, always coming up with some get rich quick business scheme or miracle gadget, though he doesn't have what it takes to make any of his ideas work. He is far more successful in matters of the heart, never without a date on a Saturday night.
