There are many different tools and websites that can be used to make your eBay experience simpler, safer or more profitable.

Payments

PayPal.com: offers an excellent payment service that is one of the most popular methods of payment on eBay. Accounts are held in US$ but are easily changed into Australian currency on withdrawal.

Australian Banks: Most of the larger banks offer some form of internet banking. These bank accounts can be used to make direct deposits into other peoples bank accounts.

Bidding Tools

These tools, often called 'snipers' place a bid on a designated item just before the end of the bidding period. It should be noted that if you 'snipe' a bid at the end of the auction time, but there is a proxy bid with a higher limit, the proxy bidder will win.

Escrow services

An escrow service can help ensure a safe transaction between the buyer and seller, especially when a large amount of money is changing hands. An escrow service acts as a neutral third party in a transaction, collecting payment for the merchandise from the buyer until the seller sends the item to the buyer. Once the buyer accepts the merchandise, the escrow service forwards the payment to the seller. There are two main escrow services that conduct transactions in Australian dollars:
