Hatchling

[
Weyr] [Childhood] [Candidacy] [Hatchling] [Weyrling] [Adult] [Stats] [Ryslen Weyr]

Wyand gently scratched Iguazath's green eyeridge, watching with pleasure as tthe green crooned happily, rubbing her head against Wyand's neck.  She dangled her feet in the Weyrlake, perched on a stone outcropping.  "Look, it's one of the freak dragons," A bluerider Weyrling from another Weyr murmured to his friend.  Wyand's teeth clenched together as she dove into the water, the cold keeping her from throwing herself at the bluerider.

Are you mad? Iguazath asked, diving into the water, her white tail flashing as she followed her rider.  I am sorry if I have made you mad.

Surfacing in the middle of the lake, Wyand sputtered and treaded water.  "No, Iguazath, you could never make me mad," She said as the dragon resurfaced next to her.

Iguazath had been one of seventeen hatchlings from a Jr. Queen from Katadon and one of Ryslen's own, a white.  All of the resulting hatchlings had been shaded almost exactly the same way- from dark on the head to white on the lower half of their body.  There had been four others like Iguazath, with the green pattern.

Wyand had always been able to escape most of the jokes.  True, the green-white and blue-white riders were teased the most, because they had lower-ranked dragons, but Wyand was thankful to have N'ral for an older cousin.

At age 18, he rode one of the only two pure bronzes that had hatched at Ryslen Weyr.  In fact, he'd Impressed the last egg of the Sr. Queen's, and the Sr. Queen had made him promise to take care of Lokioth before she would let him Impress the bronze.  Many of the younger Weyrlings shut up when he was around; he could pack a punch.

Ignore them, Iguazath commented.  They are mean because they don't know what I am- they're afraid of me.  They will see, though, that I'm alot like a green whenever they GROW UP!

Wyand giggled.  Iguazath had been amazingly mature in her reasoning ever since hatching, but she always commented on other's immature reactions to things.  "I must agree," Wyand replied.  "WHEN THEY GROW UP!" She shouted, still giggling.

STATS
Name: Iguazath
Color: Green/White (Light green)
Age: Hatchling
Physical Appearance: Other than her color, nothing is set for when she grows up.  Already Iguazath is a gangling green-white, but Wyand doubts that will last.  One of the larger greens in her clutch, but not the largest.  Her head color is a shade darker than the lighest of the hatchings, and fades quickly to a white hindquarter.
Personality: Like a teenage girl (No offense to anyone)- can be mature and immature in the same minute.  Unlike most green dragons, she retains information and doesn't panick easily.
