Heidi's daughter Elisha Keller was born on 7/16/97 with Moebius syndrome. Moebius syndrome is a rare syndrome that affects the 6th and 7th cranial nerves. Symptoms of this syndrome include: Facial paralysis(lack of expressions), no lateral eye movement, low muscle tone, the inability to suck, and sometimes limb deformities and respitory problems...the affects of this syndrome vary greatly from very mild to severe. Elisha has a g tube to help her eat and they are constantly battling the oral eating issues. We hope someday soon she will eat. OT and PT are a part of our daily lives as well.
