Great Cats From My Past

"Jenny" (left) and "Penny" were my first set of 'twins'. I think they must have been part Maine Coon Cat because they each weighed about 16 pounds. When these girls sat on your lap, your legs went numb!!!! Penny was the lady of the two, with a circle of white on each side of her nose, an immaculate white bib and dainty white toes. Jenny was more of a tomboy. Her facial white kind of went up one side of her nose, her bib was not always clean and her white feet went halfway up her legs in the back. She also had extra toes on both front and back, creating a real challenge when it came time to trim her nails. They both had extremely long dense fur, with the undercoat being a tannish color, while the outer coat was a dark mackerel tabby. Jenny's tail fur wasn't like most cat tails, it waved like a flattened plume and she held it upright over her back with just the tip twitching. They rarely were apart from each other, sleeping wrapped around each other, appearing to be a giant furry pillow with two heads. They lived long and healthy lives, dying peacefully within weeks of each other at 16.
