World Notes:
In college I took all the Art History I was allowed, loved it all except the modern parts. My
preferences are ancient, baroque, and asian. I dont like primitive, folk or medieval. African native
art is on a piece by piece basis but tends towards a no.
My taste swings too far unfortunately. I can't stick to just one genre but the best mix I've yet seen
is my uncle, 19th century english country home seems to provide a good basis for much of what I like.
Strong shape, or carving. Colors either bold or muted, not both.
I like frescoes. Pompeii, Sistine, Minoan, Lascaux...
And sculpture. Michelangelo, that french guy with the powerful animals, antiquity, and chinese and japanese figures.
And painting. Sargent, Rembrandt, DaVinci, Caravaggio, Reynolds.
And movies. Ran, Star Wars trilogy, Terminator, 2001, Aliens, James Bond, The Three Musketeers/The
Four Musketeers (1970s versions), Rear Window, To Catch a Thief, High Noon, Two Mules For Sister Sara.
And TV. Dr. Who, Farscape, Classic Trek, Buffy, Angel, WWF, Discovery Channel, Robot Wars, Junkyard
Wars, Survivor, Iron Chef, PBS historical things. There's a new one I've been watching called Hyperspace.
Don't quite get the name but I like it. When Dinosaurs Ruled The Earth is a good one too.
And Books. Doc E.E. Smith, Robert Heinlein, space opera stuff and sci-fi. X-Wing Rogue Squadron,
Darkover, Romances in historical settings.
And music. Mozart, Hearts of Space, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, religious chant, Coyote Oldman,
Nanci Griffith, Moby, etc. Anything but Gospel.
And Games. Pool of Radiance. Baldur's Gate series (With Icewind Dale addons), Civilization,
Master of Magic, X-Wing series, Everquest.
And architecture. Archeology. Arabic, English, French, Japanese.
And furniture. Wood, japanese, French, english 19th century or before.
