Welcome to the Butler Family Association's history section on "Famous and Notable Butlers" devoted to honoring Butler kin who have earned respect and admiration for their achievements in any field of endeavor: government, the arts, business and industry, education, entertainment, military service, religion, science, sports and other fields.
This includes those who have been elected or appointed to any type of government office: governor, lieutenant governor, senator, Congressmen, state legislator, mayor, sheriff, city councilman, attorney general, county commissioner. Butler kin who have worked in Hollywood movies, television and music; those who have gained recognition in business and industry. Educators, including college professors, deans, presidents; school principals and teachers as well as elected education officials. Religious leaders; Butler generals and others who have earned high rank and respect for their military service. Butlers in science and research; in college and professional sports ... and more.
And we'll include the good with the "bad"... not all the Butler kin have been upstanding pillars of their community: some have even been pirates and other "bad boys" and we will tell you about them as well.
We are also adding a secion on "place names" or sites which have been named after the family, including counties, cities and communities, schools and colleges, creeks and other streams and hills, etc. (see Place Names below)
