Descendants of Domenico MOLLICA

Mirella Mollica in Belgium traced her family line to the village of Sant'Ilario in Calabria, Italy. The village was founded in the late 1700s, and Mirella traced Domenico MOLLICA to that timeframe. Mirella thinks it's possible that the Sant'Ilario MOLLICAs emigrated from Sicily.

One of Mirella's ancestors emigrated from Italy to the USA in the late 1800's, and almost certainly was the founder of what is now a clan of Mollicas centered in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. This clan of the Mollica family originated in Sant'ilario dello Ionio, Italy. Three of Domenico's sons immigrated to the United States in the late 1800s. Rosario and Francesco settled in the Pittsburgh area of Pennsylvania, and Giuseppe went to New Mexico. One of the two remaining sons, Antonio, apparently stayed in Italy and is almost certainly a link between the Mirella's clan in Belgium and the McKees Rocks' clan in the USA.

In addition to Mirella's data, Mary Kay Nowak-Letters provided me with huge amounts of information. Her mother is Virginia Mollica, one of Domenico's grandaughters.
