My sweet son, on his bike on the back porch. Here's my best guy, Christian. Born on Friday, March 19, 1993, he's now a big kindergartener. This is my favorite picture of him, though it's getting a bit old now.

When he was about 5 seconds old, the nurse said, "Gee, he looks JUST like his mama. Big Cheeks!" I was a little offended at this, but didn't hold it against her. After all, she was wrong. For the first couple of years I wondered who his mother was, he looked so much like his father. Now, though, he's starting to show signs of looking like me.
 BOING! BOING! BOING!

Pals!
This is Christian with his pal Kasia. They are good friends with a partnership that I think will be good training for future years to come. Kasia tells Christian what to do. Christian does what Kasia tells him to while grumbling and complaining about how bossy she is. Recently I listened to the two of them playing hide and seek. When she was 'it', she would tell him where to hide and then pretend to spend a lot of time looking for him. When he was 'it', she would hide and he would HAVE to spend a lot of time looking for her since he had no idea where she was.

As I mentioned before, Christian has become an official schoolkid. He started kindergarten this year, and is very proud of his new lunchbox. Making lunch every morning is a new thing for me, but I do it with a sense of deja vu from the days I was taking the lunch, not making it. This reminds me that I'm not 15 anymore (shut up, Slibs <s>) which I guess would be depressing if I didn't love being 30 so much.

Anyway, he loves school and loves being a kindergartener. He also loves taking Kung Fu classes two afternoons a week, which he began shortly after school started.

Yes, he just gets cuter and cuter.
This was last year's Halloween effort. This year he plans to be a ghost. I get the impression that he thinks that this will be a complex costume to build and looked extremely unimpressed when I told him that we'd make it out of an old sheet.

I'm proud of my son. He's a gentle boy, thoughtful and loving. There were times while I was pregnant that I was hoping for a girl, but looking back, I could not have had a better child than him. God really does know best when He gives us the children we have. At least, that's been my limited experience. I'm so lucky.
