A otherwise boring weekend in August, so we borrow the 4WD and head up the mountain access road.

The top car park was almost a white-out, freezing mist forming ice rime on everything. Remember kids, don't lick the road signs!

It's really!!! Cool out here Dad!

Can we get back in the truck yet?

Dad, it's got so cold our hands have fallen off!!

The sign says No Dogs, No Bicycles and Don't Pick the Flowers, as if...

However this sign is probably correct...

Somewhere in this wind sculpted block of ice is a tree, leaves and all.

Just thought the image of the icicles forming around the ferns as being a bit unusual.
