He married Helen Perina GIRAULT in Tallahatchie County, MS, November 27, 1855. She was born at 'Elliot', Tallahatchie County, MS March 20, 1835. Helen was the daughter of James Augustus GIRAULT and Susan DUNBAR. She died August 13, 1914 at "Oak Mount", Limestone County, AL, at 79 years of age. She was buried alongside her husband in the Gamble Family Cemetery at "Oak Mount", Limestone County, AL.⁽¹⁰²⁾
