Quilting in Hayseed

I grew up in a small town, pop. 248, and there was less than nothing to do when you have just completed 10th grade. So my Grandmother suggested that she teach me how to make a quilt.

That was the begining of a lifetime love affair with not only quilts, but all handwork.

My mother also shares the love of quilts and for Christmas in 1996, thanks to the generosity of my dear husband, we gave my mother a "Quilting Cruise".

I went with as companion , guide and go-for. We had a wonderful time and made a "mystery" quilt.

For our quilt, I chose colors to remind us of our trip. Blues and aquas for the ocean, yellow of the sun, bright colors of the flowers and trees.

I have deceided to quilt it with a concentric circle design in the center for the sun with "rays" going out to the edges. Then I will add sea shells to the edges and "waves" to the next boarder. I haven't deceided on the final edge of triangles.

Here is the finished quiltI put some pictures of other quilts I have made on a special page, please click on the hearts and take a look.
