Background:
Finn grew up in the Inner Rim, and had an uneventful childhood. After college, he was about to become an engineer for a major corporation. But he made a fateful decision to make a pilgimage to Ylesia. (If you haven't read the A.C. Crispen Han Solo novels, then it's a slave colony in disguise.) He spent a few years as a slave there before being rescued by the Red Hand Squadron, led by Bria Theran. He spent many years trying to recover from his Exultation addiction. When he finally did, he was a changed man. Solemn and withdrawn, he showed none of the spunk that he once had. He was committed to fighting an Empire that would allow such slavery to thrive though, and soon joined the Rebellion.
After some time spent as an engineer for various Rebel stations, Finn was finally introduced to a couple of free-agent rebels; a smuggler named Kevin and a bounty-hunter named Ren. The two were going to be on an independent mission, and needed an engineer. The trio of rebels carried out a variety of missions for the Rebellion aboard Kevin's freighter, the Midnight. One of their on-going missions was the discovery and extended search for mysterious Force-pearls. Kevin had shown some apptitude for the Force, and had been the perfect candidate for such a mission profile. Along the way, the trio crossed a mercenary team of psychopathic killers.
It was through the conflict with the MToPK that Finn was forced to take up martial training. He'd always been the quiet and withdrawn type, more comfortable with droids than people, and never a fan of violence. However, after narrowly avoiding death at the hands of the MToPK, Finn was forced to begin training in melee combat. Even so, he could never really bring himself to fight an opponent through brute force. After multiple encounters with the MToPK, he took his martial training a step further, and began studying explosives. He has since become proficient in the use of grenades and demolitions.
After some time, the mission was cancelled, and Finn has returned to normal (well, somewhat) life. He moved out among to the stars, taking odd jobs as a security specialist and technician. Eventually, his travels lead him and his droid Corky to the Starforge Station...

Equipment (special= Corky: R2B7)
An older model of the popular R2 series, Corky has the appearance of a normal astromech. However, his personality is fairly well defined, as he has not seen a memory wipe in many, many years. Finn has a history of working with the droid, dating back to his recovery from the Exultation. He considers the droid his best friend, even after the events with Kevin and Ren. Corky has been trained to insert viruses into other computers. Even from when Finn first knew Corky, the droid has had a glitch within it's system that weakens (but not overrides) the standard preservation of all life protocol. Corky cannot take a life, but has no problem with causing non-permenant injury. For example, rolling tread over someone's foot will hurt, but it won't seriously damage someone.
