Stage
1
Stage 1 was completed in around 1.5-2yrs... ( i really took my
time ;) hehehe ).
Most components were painted in black or
red. The car itself in 2-Pak Skoda Yellow ... after a while at
the panelbeaters getting rust removedthat was ;). The spare wheel
well and fuel tank well needed plating along with the rusty old
aerial hole and one other patch by the back end right hand side.
The back left was a bit riplly and needed straightening too.
However the car then sat in the garage
(primed) for a few months. The garage leaked onto the left front
guard and caused some rust to come back. When i finally got the
car painted they said they would fix that first. Well they musta
just sanded it back only coz now (6months l8r or so) there are
some bubbles on my freshly painted panel!. Its not BAD but everyone
notices it up close :(
Then the car was reassembled. Interior
features 2 X Autosport 'Turbo' Fixed Back Buckets, new charcoal
grey carpet and a re-skinned dash. I also fitted new charcoal
carpet. I ripped the shitty tan vinyl off all the doors and stretched
some black velour-looking material over them. (One day i will
get these prof. done with some yellow in there too!). The roof
lining was also sprayed black from its orig. cream. All the black
plastic components were re-painted and a cusom g/knob, steering
wheel and pedals were fitted.
The car is Dumped 2" at the front
using standard struts and king springs. The rear was dumped 2"
also by way of lowering blocks but it failed the certification
by 10mm. Now the back is only 1" lower and soon i will reset
the leaf springs to claim back that other inch :)
Wheels are 13" Cheviot US-800's with
Bridgestone Eager tyres(215x50).
The 1600 OHV runs o/s pistons, Mild Street
Cam, 32/36DGV Weber Carburettor, Extractors and a lightened flywheel.
Dyno'ed at 48KW - YAYAYAYYAYA!
Now move on to Pre-Stage 2!
