Who are Amanda Jones? Common sense leads us to conclusiong that Amanda Jones is only one person. People with better memory will remember that Amanda Jones was a heroin of a unforgettable John Hughe's movie "Some Kind of Wonderful" from late eighties, named after a Carole King song. Those who have even better memory know that Amanda Jones was a Rolling Stones song. But this time we will refer this name to a new band that comes from Smyrna, Georgia, just outside Atlanta. Four girls gathered their forces 1999 and named themselfes after a mentioned movie carachter. Soon, they became darlings of the local scene with the aspirations to move further.

"Some Kind of Wonderful" carries the emotion that people try and try to repeat with no good results. TV shows like Friends for example. But, this band succesfully brings us to the overwhelmed extatic emotion, just like Hughes knew how to do with his modern-day fairytales.

Teresa really knows how to make a perfect pop song. Her talen is literary blooming in song entitled True. Song has a form into - verse - subrefrain - refrain - solo (same as intro, solo added) - verse - subrefrain - refrain - bridge - verse - subrefrain - refrain - bridge - end. This is one of these songs that seems so simple, yet not too many people are able to write them. If Fussy by Jamie Lawson was an absolute hit in the previous issue, True by Amanda Jones will be in this one. This is all siced by a simple, but beautiful oldfashioned arrangement and instrumentation + sassy Teresa's vocal. Short and sweet, and makes you wanna play it over and over.

I'm hoping the best for this band and wish them a lot of tours and success. I hope to see them in my neighborhood too, their concerts are probably a great fun. Check out their album entitled Voices.

Amanda Jones won the Best Band award on Jenny Jones Show. Read about their performance and the show.
