Rumors

With all the wild rumors about the book out there, how do you know which ones to believe? Various rumors are listed here and the most likely are italicized :) If you know of any other rumors, please submit them to the guestbook and I'll put it on the site!

Harry will sustain a minimal but lasting injury in book 6.
The first draft for book 6 will hopefully be finished in Jan 2004 and will be slightly shorter than GoF.
We may find out why Voldemort fears Dumbledore.
It is likely that we will hear more about the prophecy and how Harry reacts to the information once it has sunk in.
We may see the Hand of Glory from book 2 again.
Neville may try to avenge his parents by killing Bellatrix, or Harry will try and avenge Sirius again.
Petunia Dursley may reveal some hidden magical powers.
The Green Flame Torch is something that destroys evil and helps the good. It could also turn love into hate or vice versa.
narfydude (Mohamed) says: I want to point out something about Harry's eyes. I was reading a book and it said that when the devil fell, an emerald was created or something like that. And it made me think that the emerald is green like Harry's eyes, and it might be a clue to the green torch of book 6, it might be something that helps in defeating evil.
Ron and Hermione could date, but find out that they're not right for each other. Either that or they find out they're soulmates. Harry and Hermione could also get together at some point.
The Green Flamed Torch may be located in Egypt. (Supposedly, it's mentioned in the Egyptian Book of the Dead.)
Harry is the heir of Godric Gryffindor. (Might be book 7 material)
Harry and Ron both fall in love with Hermione and fight over/for her. (ditto)
Harry is related to Ron?!
We may find out why Dumbledore trusts Snape. (Could happen in book 7)
Harry and Draco will be friends for a short time, but become enemies again after a major event. (After all, one of J.K. Rowling's favorite characters is Eustace from The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. He is an unpleasant person who becomes good.) JKR has pretty much confirmed that this will not happen, but we can't rule it out.
The title of the sixth book might be Harry Potter and the Green Flame Torch.
The other rumored title is Harry Potter and the Alchemist's Cell.
Many people suspect that Professor Quirrell's brother will be the new DADA teacher in book 6.
It might be Lupin's brother Romulus. Does he have a brother? Maybe, maybe not...
Snape will fall in love. (could be in VII)
Pettigrew returns in books 6 and/or 7.
In the sixth book, Hermione will be injured and have to stay in the hospital causing Harry and Ron to face Voldemort one-on-one.
There are three registered titles to possible future HP books on the UK patent office trademark search: Harry Potter and the Pyramids of Fumat (Another possible book 6 title.), Harry Potter and the Chariots of Light, and Harry Potter and the Alcemist's Cell.
